Eberl on display at the “Market of Opportunities” for young job-seekers
Diverse and interesting – these are the apprenticeship opportunities at Spedition Eberl. Every year, we are present at the biggest vocational training day in our region: For a 6th year, the Traunstein Trade Association has organized this free informational event for the area’s schools on the campus of the combined technical college and higher vocational school. We participated in “Marketplace of Opportunities” offering three different directions for on-the-job training.
How long does the training last? What can someone do with an apprenticeship? How much does someone earn in the first year of on-the-job training? Our forwarding merchant, Cornelia Flato, and fleet manager, Christian Maurer, were happy to give in-depth answers to questions from the teenagers and their parents who took advantage of this informational event. Even Senior Managing Director, Jürgen Eberl, was happy to support this event once again. The big Eberl semi-trailer truck, parked directly in front of the entrance to the school, offered an ideal platform for an afternoon full of discussions. This is because the on-the-job training possibilities at Eberl are especially diverse, including three different career paths: Eberl doesn’t just train forwarding merchants, the opportunities for specialists in warehousing logistics and professional truck drivers for Eberl’s own fleet of vehicles were also on display. “I always see all the Eberl trucks on the road, but what can I learn with you? “asked a curious ninth-grader. The green Eberl logo is an eye-catcher on the road and also guaranteed a lot of name recognition at this event. “I was really surprised about the big demand for information on careers in truck driving,” said Christian Maurer, pleased at the end of a long afternoon. This, knowing that the industry is already experiencing growing recruitment problems. “Now we’re excited about taking on some new apprentices – today we established a lot of very solid contacts,” added Flato.
